| Purpose |
The purpose of the Youth Director is to implement a Propose Driven youth ministry while
learning skills and experiences for ongoing youth ministry.
|
| Responsibilities |
- Build healthy relationships with our youth to identify key needs and concerns that can be
addressed and to minister to their spiritual needs. (Note: Refer a member of the youth group to
receive appropriate counsel when needed. Information on abuse must be reported to a
church pastor within twenty-four hours).
- Encourage, listen, pray for and with our youth.
- Publicize and contact youth for events. You are the hub of our communication with youth.
- Participate with the youth team to plan regular activities (note: eventually calling and
leading these meetings will be included with these responsibilities). Parents are willing to
help- use them.
- Help assist in developing, planning, implementing and overseeing the four level Philosophy
of Youth ministry.
- Promote the spiritual and emotional development of our youth.
- Enforce the code of conduct. This is not an area in which relationship supercedes
responsibility.
- Help identify and involve potential leaders within our youth group.
- Recruit assistance, when needed, to oversee events.
- Propose ideas for activities and outings.
- Participate in youth activities.
- Protect and admonish the youth against self-destructive ideas and behavior.
- Suggest ideas on how to improve the youth program.
- Lead the youth to see themselves as part of the larger church family, and not as a separate
entity. Encourage participation in all-church activities including outreach events, worship, and
service.
