First United Methodist Church, a growing and vibrant faith community in downtown Santa Maria is are searching for an energetic & organized leader with good people skills to fill this position. The major responsibilities of this position are to provide leadership and organization to a group of volunteer teachers. You will recruit additional teachers, provide ongoing training, provide logistical and schedule support, purchase curriculum and oversee the weekly operations of the Sunday morning children and youth educational ministries. Limited teaching may also be required. This program is already a strength of FUMC and we are seeking someone who can lead a team to grow the program to the next level. A successful leader could competently fulfill these requirements in 10-15 hours weekly. We can provide some flexibility in how and where these hours are fulfilled. Sunday morning 8 am—noon are the primary programming times. Other hours including planning and preparation could be done off site. Occasional meetings with the Pastor and church leaders will be required as well and could be fulfilled on Sundays.
