| Purpose |
First United Methodist Church, a growing and vibrant faith community in downtown Santa Maria is searching for an energetic and organized leader with a passion for teenagers to fill this position. The major responsibilities of this position are to provide leadership for the Youth Ministry program components of fellowship, mission and education. This person will have primary contact with the youth as well as develop a team of adult volunteers to serve as ministry leaders. This program is small but strong (8-15 youth involved) and we are searching for the right person to grow it to the next level. A successful leader could competently fulfill these requirements in 10-15 hours weekly. We can provide some flexibility in how and where these hours are fulfilled. Sunday morning 8 am—noon and Sunday afternoon 4-6 pm. are the primary programming times. Other hours including planning and preparation could be done off site. Occasional meetings with the Pastor and church leaders will be required as well and could be fulfilled on Sundays.
