| Personal Mission Statement: | My personal goal is to glorify the Lord through serving and loving others. I desire to deepen both my own and others' knowledge of the love of Jesus, and to fall more in love with him each day. I want to see SLO become a sending ground that is written about in church history books! I desire to live as a world Christian, that is to live my life in light of eternity amongst the world. | ||||
| Currently Involved In: | Too much! Currently, I serve as an Associate Campus Director. My role is primarily overseeing the ministry. This involves shepherding our killer staff team. I also have the privilege of working with some incredible student leaders. One of my most favorite parts of my job is as Partnership Coordinator for our partnership ministry in East Asia where we send dozens of Cal Poly and Cuesta students for year round ministry. That is off the hook! I also get to help with the Shepherding Team, which is a sweet group of student leaders who help lead and shepherd our 120+ Bible Study leaders! | ||||
| What would your occupation be if you werenÃt on staff: | I would be wreaking havoc for the Kingdom somewhere else. However, I have a fondness for surfing, the ocean in general, and food. I would maybe be found owning a surf shop, smoothie/coffee bar and a restaurant (all in one). Even better if I get to do that with some close friends. | ||||
| Years on Staff: | 6 (yikes!) | ||||
| Outside Interests: | I love being outdoors. I love to surf, hangout at the beach (just a few blocks from our house), or go for short hikes. I think I might try the outrigger canoe club. I get so amped on being out in His creation. I would like to read more. I am awfully slow, but I love reading history and biographies. I love music too. I cannot play anything, but lounging in a cozy chair and chillinà to Coltrane, U2, Miles Davis, Coldplay or other cool cats. | ||||
| How I came to accept Jesus: | I was in 6th grade at Indian Village, Forrest Home... and I did not like the looks and crackle of the huge bonfire in front of me! Besides, all my friends raised their hands...seriously though, mostly through my Mom's perseverance and witness to me. My Mom cared for us with limitless patience and tenderness. She helped show me what it meant to care for and love on all people, no matter what their situation or need. God has called us to love other, and she did. That is how I experienced Christ's love for me, and that was irresistible for me to turn away from. Since she passed away in January of 2002, her example to serve others and to be kind and smile to everyone encourages me. She helped me develop an eternal perspective here on earth. Although she is not with us here anymore, someday I will see her again, hug her and thank her for introducing me to eternity and a life with Jesus! | ||||
| Future plans: | Wherever the Lord leads of course. However, my wife and I are committed to changing the world for Christ through the university. As the campus goes, so goes the world. We desire to be here in SLO where we are committed to seeing Cal Poly and Cuesta College be a historic sending ground to the world. | ||||
| Favorite Movie: | Big Wednesday (it has a sentimental value for me and my best buds) | ||||

| Other fun facts: | I grew up with 3 brothers (one is my twin). I am a fanatic of Glade Plug-Ins and Mountain Dew. I love playing and coaching water polo (I have had the privilege of doing both at Poly). I was recently ordained by my home church, Calvary Chapel San Luis Obispo. That was an incredibly humbling privilege. I am grateful for that honor and commission. I have surfed on both sides of the Pacific Ocean (and the middle too). I love to travel, love to cook, and love long walks on the beach at sunset!! | ||||
